This is the core step to reduce oil content, which minimizes oil ingress into compressed air through optimized compressor operation and component selection.

1. **Select appropriate high-quality lubricating oil**

**Prioritize **screw machine-specific synthetic lubricants**. These oils exhibit high oil film strength and low volatility, effectively reducing oil mist generated by high-temperature cracking during compression. Avoid using conventional mineral oils due to their strong volatility, which can easily form oil vapor and mix with compressed air.

2. **Optimize the configuration of oil-gas separation system**

-Replace with **high-precision glass fiber oil separator**: The glass fiber oil separator achieves a filtration precision of 0.01μm, significantly outperforming traditional paper filters in capturing oil mist particles. Note: The oil separator must be compatible with the air compressor model and processing capacity; do not use incompatible models.

-Inspect the oil-gas separation drum structure: Ensure the pre-separation baffle and guide plate are intact. The centrifugal force first separates most liquid oil droplets, thereby reducing the filtration pressure on the oil core.

## . Process Filtration: Secondary Oil Removal in Compressed Air Transportation

Special oil removal devices are installed on the pipeline from the air compressor's exhaust port to the end-use point to further intercept residual oil.

1. **Add multi-stage precision oil removal filter**

The filter should be configured in the sequence of "**coarse filter fine filter activated carbon filter**" to intercept oil particles and vapor of different sizes through staged filtration.

- **Coarse filter**: Retains liquid oil droplets larger than 5μm to protect subsequent precision filter elements.

- **Ultra-fine filter**: With a filtration precision of 0.01μm, it effectively removes microscopic oil mist particles.

- **Activated Carbon Adsorption Filter**: Absorbs oil vapor and odors from compressed air, ideal for applications requiring extremely low oil content (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals).

Note: The filter cartridge should be replaced regularly (typically when the pressure differential reaches 0.07MPa). A clogged cartridge will lose its oil filtration capability and may even cause oil backflow.

2. **Reasonable allocation of gas storage tanks**

The gas storage tank not only stabilizes pressure but also separates some liquid oil droplets through sedimentation.

-Ensure the gas storage tank capacity matches the air compressor's exhaust volume, with compressed air remaining in the tank for at least 30 seconds to facilitate oil droplet settling.

-Perform scheduled daily drainage of condensate and oil contaminants from the bottom of the gas storage tank to prevent oil accumulation from entering subsequent pipelines with gas flow.
